AUDREY GRANT and the ACBL

Audrey Grant and the American Contract Bridge League have worked together to produce a series of bridge books/manuals for new players, and for experienced players who would like to improve their game. The instructor follows the general guideline of these books. The technical approach to these books was determined by surveying a cross section of North American bridge teachers. The effectiveness of the teaching principles was field tested in five cities, prior to the publication of the first book in the series, with more than 800 bridge students and at least 25 teachers involved.

Audrey Grant, a Canadian educator and world famous bridge teacher, calls herself “an authority on simplicity”. She has an uncanny knack for teaching people to play bridge, the most popular game on the planet. Her manuals encompass all of the sound principles that facilitate learning any subject and are built on the firm foundation of a basic understanding of the game of bridge. Grant, a consultant to the ACBL, has written more than 20 books on bridge. In this series of books, she makes it easy to learn the game of bridge and to improve the knowledge and skills of the reader/student. While many approach the game with the grim seriousness of a brain surgeon, Audrey and your instructor approach it with a sense of fun.

The American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) with nearly 170,000 members is the main sanctioning body for organized bridge in North America. It sponsors more than 1000 bridge tournaments a year and has more than 3500 affiliated bridge clubs. There are many benefits to joining the ACBL and their site can be visited at www.acbl.org.
