Finding the Right Group

The most important factor in finding the right group is for everyone to have close to the same amount of knowledge and experience in the game.

However, there are many other factors, especially for new players, that are very important and that will be taken into consideration by the instructor. Some of these are as follows:

1. Social compatibility
2. Reasons for taking lessons
3. Amount of time to be devoted to learning the game
4. Finding a partner
5. Finding people to play with outside of class

Taking lessons is a great way to meet people and to make new friends for bridge and other social activities. On the other hand, prospective students are encouraged to sign up as a couple or as a group with existing friends.

For people with some experience, the self evaluation along with the other factors listed above will help the instructor place each student in the proper group.
