“ I do love bridge - teaching even more than playing. I take great satisfaction in seeing my students progress in their knowledge and enjoyment of the game. I am unique in that I have the desire and patience necessary to teach beginners as well as the level of expertise needed to teach experienced tournament players.”

Ivan Feit
BEGINNERS

Many people are reluctant to learn to play bridge because they have heard that it is a very difficult game. In truth, it is not difficult to play, as all of my students will be “playing bridge” on their first session. What is challenging is to be able to play well.

The beauty of the game, however, is that the more one learns and plays, the better players they will become and the more fun they will have. I look forward to teaching new players and to introducing them to the greatest game ever played.

SOCIAL PLAYERS

Most people playing social bridge have a limited knowledge of the basics of the game. When they have “good cards” they have fun and when their cards are not so good they may become bored. They frequently overbid and even more frequently underbid their hands. Knowledge and practice of the basic principles of bidding, defense and play of the hand will result in a quantum leap in their enjoyment of the game. It is a leap that I look forward to watching in all of my social playing students.

INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS

Players in this category should be well versed in the basic principles of the game. They will be ready to learn new techniques in bidding, defense and play of the hand which will enable them to play competitively in tournament bridge, if they desire to do so.

ADVANCED PLAYERS

These players are already playing Tournament Bridge and would like to improve their results. While learning new conventions is always helpful, I believe the quickest route is learning to play better defense and reaching the optimum contract, especially in competitive auctions. I am a strong advocate of the use of the Modern Losing Trick Count in conjunction with The Law of Total Tricks in order to achieve this result.
